Circle of Friends hosts various small events throughout the year. Our events are all designed to engage our membership in Circle of Friends and help build a connection among members and the hospital. In addition to the small events we host at various times throughout the year, Circle of Friends also has four annual events that we host at the same time each year. Our four annual events are listed below.
Member Cocktail Event: Each year we have a member cocktail party open to our entire membership and their spouses. Typically a doctor from Packard joins us and makes brief remarks about his or her specialty. The member cocktail event is a great opportunity to bring our membership together and give people a chance to meet other members.
Lunch and Learn: Each year we host a big fundraising event for Packard called the Lunch and Learn. Members and friends can purchase tickets for the event which always features a prominent speaker and lunch. A portion of each ticket is donated to The Children’s Fund.
Annual Meeting: Each fall we host the Circle of Friends Annual Meeting. This is an opportunity for the COF Board of Directors to make brief presentations to the membership on what is in store for Circle of Friends in the year ahead. In addition we invite a doctor from Packard to join us to make a presentation about his or her area of expertise and what is happening in this area at Packard. Members have the opportunity to ask Board members questions and sign up for volunteer opportunities.
Mistletoe and Martinis: Each year Circle of Friends hosts this evening cocktail event and toy drive for Packard. Members and their spouses are invited to enjoy an evening of cocktails with other members as part of the annual toy drive Circle of Friends does for Packard around the holiday season.
